A GEORGIAN PERIOD ORGAN CASE

Commissioned by Royalty and featured in The Institute for Classical Architecture "Classicist â„– 7:2005-2007" publication

Designed by Gary Armstrong to compliment its surrounding decoration this piece is made from Amboyna Burl with inlays of Ebony, Boxwood and Mahogany with a crossband of mahogany curls. The Swietenia Mahogany turned fluted columns are capped with finely cast Gold collars .The music stops, lattice work grills, pipes and foot stops are also finished in Gold. Behind the Gold lattice grilles the fabric contains gold thread covering amplifying equipment. The Swietenia Mahogany moldings are carved with bead and reel decoration and the ogee feet have acanthus leaves with patchwork centers. Finally the organ is capped with a broken pediment and a finely turned and Gold embellished finial.
